Hey everyone! During my first weekend in Villas Mastatal, I went along with the 7 other volunteers to Playa Dominical, a surfing-isolated beach on the Pacific Coast! It was quite difficult to get there as we have to take three buses (the first one at 5:30 in the morning) and they are usually crowded, which along with the high temperature and humidity make the trip quite challenging, but it was worth it! It was my first time in the Pacific Ocean, the water temperature was very warm and we really enjoyed our time there!
During my third weekend, we went to Manuel Antonio, a natural park and animal protected area close to the beach. To get there, it is pretty much the same as getting to Playa Dominical but shorter. Before we got on the bus to the beach we stopped at the local farmers market to purchase fresh fruits and veggies. At the hostel there was a kitchen so we made family dinners and it was cool to see what each person could bring to the table. We spent our days swimming and relaxing on the beach with the ants and enjoying the beautiful view of the giant waves crashing on the rocks. At night we went to a club called Zion and danced the night away.
