There are a lot of harvests during PEI volunteering trip , like the first time experience of construction , best friend, great experience of teamwork and awesome natural landscape in PEI. However, The most important thing is to provide me a good chance to know and seek different aspect of myself. In my heart , I always want to be a strong, full of energy and independent girl like Anne Shirley who is one of my favorite characters.
THE FIRST TIME EXPERIENCE OF CONSTRUCTION
I never think about I can do construction work before this trip, because it looks very tough and heavy. But now I kind of like frame work and use tools to measure the length , mark the signal , cut the wooden boards and drive nails into wooden boards, fix frame on the wall. I learned how to use circle saw , how to watch level and I have basic idea about procedures of building frame and how to design from customers’ need.
BEST FRIEND
I am so lucky to meet Daisy who is so generous and kind to me ! She considered me as a young sister and helped me a lot. Sometimes we click together too much , but I cherished the short time when we worked together. She is such a strong girl and have strong abilities which I don’t have. I learned a lot from her every day : )
GREAT EXPERIENCE OF TEAMWORK
Building House is a complicated teamwork , which need everyone’s effort. But different people has different personalities.Some people are kind of smooth talker, some people are hard working style but less talking. All of us are use our own advantages and abilities to help others . I love the feeling of teamwork , because you can truly understand how strong powder we have to handle a task.
AWESOME NATURAL LANDSCAPES IN PEI
After I posted a lot of pictures of beautiful views in FACEBOOK, some of my friends told me they were so jealous me 🙂
I love the blue sky , the green meadows, the colorful flowers which consisted of a vivid painting . Besides, we visited famous confederation bridge , lighthouse and so on .
KNOW AND SEEK DIFFERENT ASPECT OF MYSELF
When I received the valuation from other team members , I was so surprised to realize my powder.
” You are so strong for your size ” make me excited. I know I can do everything as long as I want to .
Everyone has different aspect which they don’t realize before. Therefore, this amazing experience make me discovery myself .
I am grateful for this unforgettable experience which CENTENNIAL COLLEGE gave me. I am so lucky to work with other students who are from different programs and our team leader-Pierre Valley and Anjana Patrick who are take much care of our lives and feelings !
